My time at MISTI…

The years of experience, and various positions I held at MISTI truly created the foundation of my marketing experience. It provided me with the ability to strategize and develop marketing plans, budget effectively, and establish team camaraderie across all the company’s divisions, all while keeping in line with the overall company goals.

Where there were a lot of accomplishments and milestones encountered at MISTI, there are two that I am most proud of. The first was having led the implementation of a new CRM and marketing automation platform. This complex project included a major data, website and marketing automation platform integration, audit of company needs, training for the entire company and collaboration with vendors. Additionally during this time our company was going through a rebrand which we had to incorporate into the new website. This was especially challenging given our very tight time-frame of 10 months. Not only was this successfully it moved our business to the next level! It was a particularly rewarding project to see from start to finish. I was able to truly use and develop many skills throughout this time including project management, technical abilities, problem-solving, collaboration and communication.

The second was my overall management and relationship building experiences there. I genuinely learned so much through my years there and managing people. I first started with one direct report and that lead to managing an entire marketing department consisting of lead generation specialists, event marketing managers and graphic designers. Whether internal or external, developing business relationships is something I take great pleasure in. In management positions I have always prided myself on rolling up my sleeves and pitching in to support anywhere that is needed. One of the best compliments I ever received from an employee was that they respected that I knew what was involved in doing the actual job and that I didn’t underestimate the time and effort that was put in. I always tried to be mindful of the level of effort that was needed and that I was asking for.

My time at SeraCare…

I joined SeraCare at a unique and challenging time for their business. They had almost no marketing resources. It offered me the opportunity to successfully develop new and improved ways to market their portfolio and the ability to coordinate and execute marketing campaigns with various moving parts, which is a strength and something I enjoy. I am particularly fond of developing automated processes and enhancing system usage to contribute to more engagement and adoption internally. There I was able to successfully re-configure their marketing automation platform (HubSpot) to work with their CRM (Salesforce), putting into place many automated processes to help with the company’s needs.

One of the biggest things I got to do there is create a relationship between Sales and Marketing that proved to be not only welcomed, but had many successful outcomes. Sales departments were able to have clear visibility into what marketing efforts where happening and were able to follow up more efficiently.

I was able to work with them to identify things they needed to help their sales cycles. One tool was the website which I was able to reorganize and categorize their resources and education in a more effective and easily digestible way for customers.

Other things…

One last achievement I am proud of is hands-on learning how to do graphics for websites, banners, emails, brochures and other collateral. As a result of working for smaller departments resources are inevitably scarce. Being aware the opportunity to learn Photoshop, InDesign and Illistrator to contribute to some of the needs of the company was great!! And… I love to do it! I was able to learn from talented people along the way. At SeraCare, I was able to do a lot of re-imaging of their website, sales collateral, put together new collateral in the form of sell sheets and digital assets, as well as create one-off banners for the marketing department as needed for emails and social efforts.

At MISTI, I was able to work my way up to doing a 64-page course catalog! That was intense. From design to edit, it was a beast… But it was great and I learned a lot and was able to do a lot of brochures and even exhibitor booths and signage.
